Meet, Meiko Takahashi, owner & principal designer of Shizen Designs.
Born in Tokyo, Japan, she moved to the
US in 1992 to pursue a career in accounting. For ten
years working as a CPA, Mieko starting to make jewelry as a
hobby for friends and family. Her collections were so popular and well loved, she rethought her career path!
So in 2006, she began creating jewelry full
time, launching Shizen Designs. Mieko hand-crafts
her jewelry from her home in Bellingham,
Washington, assisted by her husband David, her two
cats Koko and Kiku and her dog Kumo.
In addition to
making jewelry and paper crafts, Mieko enjoys
Pilates, Yoga, knitting, quilting, watching spy or
legal thriller films, traveling, keeping in touch with
her friends on Facebook and organizing (yes,
organizing can be a hobby.)
